D-Zone II To Delight Original D-Zone Game Fans
Wednesday 11 August 2004
ADELAIDE AUSTRALIA--August 11, 2004--Digital Scores today announced the immediate availability of D-Zone II, the sequel to the popular multi-player Shareware classic released back in 1993.
D-Zone is a top view multi-player tank battle game in which a mixture of robots and humans fight to their death and go shopping every three rounds for a vast array of new weapons. Simple on the surface, rich in strategy, D-Zone was a runaway Shareware success through the mid 90s. The registrations eventually started to slow down because the game was running too fast on the computers of that time.
The original author Julian Cochran has teamed up with Digital Scores Pty Ltd to work on a sequel, D-Zone II, promising to retain the same rich game play but with enhanced graphics and AI and a haunting space odyssey-inspired musical score. "We wrote a portable graphics engine from scratch, not only to ensure portability across all platforms but also to make sure this unique game could be played and enjoyed for many years to come.", Julian Cochran reflects.
D-Zone II is set to enthral the original fans while demonstrating some high quality 3D rendering of its own kind. Along with fans of the original, D-Zone II is expected to appeal to the technically minded in using D-Zone's script language to program the robot tanks. This user-friendly robot programming system is introduced at www.digitalscores.com/dzone/robotProgramming.html.
The game is yet to be classified by the ESRB. For more information, fans can visit www.digitalscores.com/dzone2.
System Requirements
D-Zone II runs under Windows XP or Mac OS X with a Linux version just around the corner. The game requires 384MB of RAM and a CPU of at least 1.5GHz is recommended.
