Graphics User Interface
3DMatrix uses the JCDesk cross-platform graphics user interface. This page covers the basics of managing windows within JC-Desk.
Opening, closing and moving windows
Right-clicking the desktop will produce a popup-menu in which you can select which windows are opened and closed. To close windows more conveniently you can double-click their title bar.
Window can be moved by clicking the mouse over their title bar and some windows such as the Orthographic View Windows can be re-sized by clicking the mouse over any of the four corner squares. Note that the main menu is treated as a window and it can be moved by clicking the mouse over the upper section of the menu.
Changing the background graphics
The image used as the desktop background is the file background.jpg in the directory where 3DMatrix is installed. You can replace this file with a different desktop background of your preference.
Saving the environment
It is possible to save the precise position of all windows and the status of most checkboxes using the Save Environment Window.
If you save the environment using the name 'DEFAULT' then this environment will be automatically loaded each time you start 3DMatrix. This allows you to set the screen up exactly how you like and then load different models without the environment changing.
